New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg Declares January 8 as “IBREA Brain Education Day”

NYC Proclamation of IBREA Brain Education DayNew York City’s Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg proclaimed January 8, 2009 as “IBREA Brain Education Day.” Ilchi Lee, president of IBREA (International Brain Education Association), and BR Consulting, and creator of Brain Education, received the proclamation.

The proclamation recognized Brain Education’s pioneering work in helping the people of New York City tap into their brain’s unlimited potential. Brain Education, whose core method is Brain Wave Vibration, is a revolutionary system of methods for mind-body training that enhances health, well-being, and mental ability in people of all ages.

The proclamation mentioned that the purpose of Brain Education is to “promote the study of brain awareness and its potential to improve the human condition.” In the document, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene expressed appreciation to IBREA for helping New Yorkers “live healthy, happy lives” and “find peace of mind and well-being.” Brain Education outreach activities in New York and at the United Nations have been dedicated to helping people improve their physical, mental, and cognitive health.

The proclamation coincided with a seminar on “The Role of Brain Education in Global Mental Health,” held at the United Nations. Organized and hosted by Ilchi Lee, this seminar was co-sponsored by IBREA, the Korea Institute of Brain Science (KIBS, an NGO with consultative status at the UN), the NGO Committee on Mental Health, and the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the UN NGO Section.

Featured speakers included Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg and Dr. Norman Doidge, both internationally renowned neuroscientists and authors, Dr. Hanifa Mezoui, Chief of the Non-Governmental Organization section of DESA at the UN, and Dr. Janice Wetzel, Chair of the NGO Committee on Mental Health.

IBREA, headquartered at United Nations Plaza, supports the UN’s Millennium Development Goals through research dissemination and outreach programs. IBREA has co-hosted multiple conferences on Brain Education with the United Nations.

According to Ilchi Lee, “Brain Education promotes understanding and respect for all people, as well as for the Earth, through a celebration of the brain’s vast potential.” He is a true believer in the power of individuals to change themselves and the world around them. The human brain is the source of that power of change, and its development is the most critical aspect of human progress. An estimated one million people around the world have benefitted from Brain Education training.
